Organizations

The supernatural world is full of various organizations that deal with supernatural creatures, and there are some that work for the good of them. In opposition, there are those that have no good will toward supernatural creatures and they spend their time trying to destroy them.

Organizations

The Children of Asclepius

The ancient order of Greek origin focuses on caring for and treating supernatural creatures. It is a neutral party in battles between various factions and offers succor to anyone who seeks aid. Their symbol is the Rod of Asclepius surrounded by a ring of leaves or flowers. It’s up to the artist on the exact depiction of the ring.

Coven of Ananke

Originating in ancient Greece, the Coven of Ananke is an organization that thrives on the subjugation of others of any race. They feel that if someone can control another, they should, as the weak deserve to be treated this way. They run human trafficking, drugs, sex rings, and more in modern times. They are a world-wide organization, and while they are based in Greece still today, the majority of their leaders live in St. Louis, operating in the very heart of the supernatural community.

The Golden

This group came about the same time the Cursed began roaming the Earth. They eventually came to be marked by the alchemical symbol of the sun with two crossed swords. Like the Cursed, this mark is tattooed on them somewhere, typically where it can easily be hidden. They are mostly fallen angels, and during times when the Cursed are inactive, they assume human lives and live them while they wait for the call to action again.

The Cursed

The group is a bastardization of everything holy, going all the way back to ancient Europe, and it can be assumed longer than that. There is a theory that the cursed have always existed. They adopted a symbol to recognize each other since worshipers of Xarifer never had a way to know each other. They each have the symbol tattooed on an inconspicuous location. The underside of the tongue, instep, and inner thigh are most common.

The Order of the Day

A Vatican-sponsored group that hunts all supernatural creatures, no matter their origin or deeds. Of course, they hunt the problematic ones most often, leading to the lack of Unit Zero’s involvement. However, some rogue agents will entrap and kill even the most peaceful Supernaturals. They officially have a loose alliance with Unit Zero, though they will not hesitate to turn on them given the chance. They have a holding facility called The Tower. The official location is unknown to any but the highest ranks of the Order. Their symbol is a winged sword of the crossed keys of the Vatican.

The Keys of Hecate

This organization links all witches to Hecate. It is super matriarchal, with the leaders being the highest-ranking female witches of the age, though not necessarily the oldest. A younger witch who thinks she can unlock her potential can challenge this position.

Unit Zero

The protection agency of all the Supernaturals worldwide. Each major and significant city has an outpost of at least three Unit Zero agents. They may have no organized grouping, or they may be in a very visible position of power such as a regular police office. They might also be completely hidden by the Mirage and only function as Unit Zero agents.

A group of malevolent vampires with a vendetta against Were after their head vampire’s clan was nearly wiped out by werewolves in 1032 AD. Ever since then, the Silver Bloods have captured, tortured, and killed every Were they can find, and have refined weapons of silver as well as potions using wolfsbane and other ingredients to kill, maim, and otherwise eliminate were creatures of all kinds. They are a small but effective group, numbering no more than twenty at a time.

Werewolf Clans

Clan Fox

Clan Fox is a very small sized clan of werewolves, and relatively new. Very small clans have less than ten members. It is of English origin, with the clan leader, Vivica Fox, having come to the United States ten years ago. She settled near St. Louis, and married a rogue werewolf and decided to start her own clan. Vivica is in her forties, and has three children, though her husband has left and leads a solitary life on the road as a member of a biker gang made up of werewolves who prefer to roam. She often takes in strays who have nowhere else to go or have been ostracized from their clans.

Clan Boyle is a medium sized clan of werewolves. Medium clans have twenty-five to fifty members. This clan is originally of Irish origin and the current leader is Nathan Boyle, an wizened old werewolf that still speaks with an Irish accent even though he immigrated with his family in the early 1900s. He is well past his prime, but stubbornly refuses to pass the torch to one of his seven children.

Clan Kirk

Clan Kirk is a very small clan. It was started by a young werewolf and her mate. Philomena Kirk is an open minded wolf with high ideals. She is accepting of those that need help, and she makes certain that her wolves are taken care of. She took the name of her mate, who had originally come from a line of Danish werewolves that had immigrated in the 1800s. She believes in progress forward, and wants her clan to be at the forefront of a new wave of wolves that are accepting of differences.

Clan King, originally a Scottish clan, is a medium sized group and extremely traditional. The leader, Ethan King, is extremely old and has trained his son to run the clan from the time he could talk. He insists on very traditional roles, both of genders and ranking. For this reason, many of the young leave the clan to either become solitary or marry into another clan that is more welcoming and progressive.

Clan Maddox

Dexter Maddox is the head of Clan Maddox, a clan of Welsh origin. The Maddox clan is a large clan, consisting of over fifty wolves at a given time. They are semi-tradition, though Dexter's son, Kacey, has recently been identified as a child-bearing male. He is rethinking many of his traditional ways of thinking, though he does not show this outwardly. He has disowned Kacey, however, the rest of his children have expressed their displeasure at his actions.

As one of the only werecat clans in the area, Clan Knight is a tight-knit group. They mostly keep to themselves and out of the affairs of wolves. Their leader, Karla Knight, is in her sixties, and of a line that originated in England. Time has lost how long the Knights have been in the United States, but they are incredibly well versed in strategies of espionage. They are a small clan, consisting of around ten to twenty-five members at a given time.

Clan Robinson

Another clan of Welsh origin, the Pearce and Maddox clans have often come in conflict. Their clan heads at one time were married to each other, and that came to a bad end when the Clan Pearce's head died during childbirth, and Clan Maddox's head was blamed for not doing enough. Their leader, Jameson Pearce, is highly traditional and not willing to accept anything that is otherwise.

Clan Robinson, a mediums sized clan, is headed by Charles Robinson. Despite being larger than the small clans, Charles is surprisingly open minded and carries himself with grace. He is well into his eighties, but looks closer to fifty, and there are rumors he's taken some sort of potion to stop his aging. Their clan hails from England, but may as well be considered American since they have been in the United States as long as they have.

A small clan of English origin, Clan Wade is led by Sophia Wade. She is a young woman, only twenty-three, and took over from her mother who died unexpectedly from an unknown disease. The Children of Asclepius were unable to identify a cause of death. Because of this, Sophia has decided to use her abilities to find out who or what caused her mother's untimely demise.
